Reiki
Reiki pronounced ray-key translated means " spiritually guided life-force energy " it is energy healing from the laying on of hands. It originated in Tibet thousands of years ago but was re discovered about 100 years ago by Dr. Mikao Usui who with research into the Buddhist sutras and meditation devised the Usui system . In metaphysics, Einstein proved that matter is purely empty space with a vibration or frequency passing through it. Everything consists of energy, including ourselves. Disease or illness is a distortion of this frequency, so the best way to treat it is to re-balance this distortion by introducing a harmonic energy- Reiki. It is the same energy used in all healing arts the only difference is the attunement process which can only be activated by a Reiki master. Reiki energy is spiritual in nature, Reiki is not a religion. A reiki practitioner channels energy through their own body to yours, the practitioner is only a channel they do not use their own energy to charge you, it is said both the giver and the receiver benefit from the energy. The energy from the healer is said to be felt as warmth over the area where the practitioner holds their hands. Reiki is said to reduce pain, stress, helps relaxation, increases spirituality and produce a feeling of well-being. Reiki can be given anywhere, does not require removal of clothing. Reiki is often used by therapists to complement other treatments it also relaxes and energizes the therapist and helps to protect the therapist from taking negative energies from the client which are released during treatment like pains, tiredness and emotions. The life force flows within the body though pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It is also known as the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, helping vital functions. When this flow of life force is out of sorts it is thought to reduced function in the body. The life force is reseptive to thoughts and feelings. It is disrupted by either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves. Negative thoughts and feelings are thought to attach themselves to the energy field and disrupt in the flow of life force. Reiki is taught by a Reiki master in 3 stages called attunement. A person who has been through this process has experienced an ancient technology for fine tuning the physical and energy bodies to vibrate at a higher level. This opens a purified channel through the chakras enabling the individual to channel a greater volume of energy. The attunement also seals a protective energy field around the recipient to protect them from the transference of negative energies. Because of the attunements the Reiki energy is unconsciously drawn through the channels to the areas of most imbalance by the recipients body.
